Priscilla TaskerPriscilla TaskerHello blogcrawlers, public relations professionals and students. Allow me to introduce myself, I’m Priscilla Tasker, senior PR major at Kent State University.

Priscilla Tasker

My life’s been pretty intense lately, as I’ve been alternating my days between classes and an internship. I’m a global communications intern at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. It’s been a challenge; I struggle most with waking up at 7 a.m. and functioning like a “normal” person all day. (I’ve always been a late riser.)  Never the less, the experience I’ve had at Goodyear is one that I am most proud of and would never trade in a million years, especially not for a few extra hours of shut eye each day.

I love what I do. Every day I get to indulge in my passion, and at the same time, learn valuable lessons and skills that will guide and serve me throughout my career. What more could an aspiring young professional ask for?

Priscilla TaskerCommunications wasn’t the first thing I wanted to do when I came to college.  At the time I didn’t even know that public relations existed as a profession, but I had always admired the way that organizations tried to convey their messages to different people and through various media.

Originally, I was a fashion design major, but I realized that I wanted to find something more fulfilling and meaningful.

I’m curious about everything, so it took me a couple of years to find my niche.  I took classes in theater, political science, music and geology, all of which I enjoyed. But once I discovered PR, I knew that was it.  The career options are versatile, which is great because I’m interested in many things.  I wouldn’t want to stick to just one area.  What a bore!  I love to write, and more importantly, I know that my writing will have an impact on people.  That’s just what I was looking for.

As far as this blog goes, although it’s just for my PR Online Tactics class, I want you to benefit from the information and the advice provided.  I encourage you to visit each week, as I will do my best to present topics that any employee, manager or PR professional will find valuable.  And please, feel free to send me a line or comment on my posts.  I’d love to hear what you have to say.

  1. Priscilla,

I absolutely love your blog entitled “Planting The Seed”. It is so wonderful and captures some key elements that I think companies and its employees should follow. I really believe that there are certain ways to portray a company. I think it should always be shown in a positive light. Trust is a very important factor for management and employees. I also believe that customer satisfaction is also a big part to a companys growth.

  2. Priscilla,
I think all working people should be required to read your post. I’ve been in the work force for over 35 years and held management and non-management positions. Companies where employees work together to achieve outstanding success and maintain positive attitudes are the places where there is less turnover and better pay and benefits.

  3. Priscilla,
Thank you for your insightful blog. I think that you have a lot to offer when it comes to seeing things from others perspective. People who are happy in their jobs are more productive and creative. Communication and respect is key!!
I look forward to your next blog.

  4. Hey Priscilla,
